We recently had a request for some Get Well/Thinking of You cards for patients at 21st Century Oncology, a local cancer treatment center. We wanted them to be bright and happy cards, so we combined a bold stack of solid paper with some of Miss Marlene’s favorite patterns from our donation stash! Here are some of the results (click here to see the rest!). Aren’t they happy?
This is the sample I made to inspire the design: Solid on the bottom, patterned paper strip, and a tag/little embellishment.
This one wandered away from the template, but that’s the beautiful thing about our craft… anything goes! Love this teal/orange combo!
We also had a request for more masculine cards, so I think this kind of fits. Love those shiny silver brads!
I love how the original design morphed into this simple card!
Patriotic 🙂 The copper brads add such a perfect touch.
Shimmery patterned paper paired with a vibrant purple. So pretty!
Love this green/blue combination.
We had a surprisingly good turnout last month, but we were missing something… YOU! Hope you can join us for our next Spark a Smile party on Wednesday, February 13th, from 5-7PM at Yang and Horsley Dentistry (325 E. Cottonwood Lane).
We’re putting a different twist on Valentine’s Day this year – instead of candy and pink hearts, we’re honoring someone close to our hearts: my dad, Gene Yang. February 10th, 2013 will mark the 3rd anniversary of his tragic passing. He was one of the strongest, heartfelt people I have ever known. To honor his memory we’ll be making cards for Autism Speaks, another group of strong, heartfelt people who can always use encouragement! Hope you’ll be able to join us!
